Our Mission Statement and Philosophy
Each person and each horse is an individual with individual issues. Therefore we ensure our approach is not a ‘one size fits all’. Every program is tailored especially for you and your horse’s needs. All our courses will make you a safer, more gentle horse person no matter what discipline you are involved in.
Safety is our Number One priority. Whether you live in the City or the Bush, a well mannered horse and training to be safe is no different.
Our company is also committed to bringing alternative programmes to rural and remote Australia, to give opportunities to people that they would not normally be able to access.

PATRICK HARRIS
The Perfect Ride Clinics on Horsemanship reflect the transformation and evolution of Patrick Harris, and like Patrick, it is continually evolving. This is why we have recently made a name change from “Outback Alternative Training” to “Perfect Horsemanship”.
I have always loved my four-legged mates. Being brought up in a horse family, I seemed to always find myself riding a real horse, or the rocking horse to the laughter of my grandfather who never tired of me winning another Melbourne Cup.
It’s been said about me that ‘He’s short and fat, but don’t worry, he knows his way around a horse. He’s not the prettiest rider and not the best, but he gets results.”
Having limitations has been a good thing, I guess. I always climbed on horses that were given to me by people who were better riders or physically more capable than me. But I always got results, and fast.”
Patrick is an experienced horseman from New South Wales where his family have owned cattle and horses for six generations.
The Perfect Ride courses have developed not just from Patrick’s experience of horsemanship, but also his study of NLP, Hypnosis and Vibrational energy. This unique combination has helped him understand, and teach so many, a horse training psychology and practice that takes us safely beyond the limitations in our behaviours and that of our horse companions.
These courses are designed for men and women of all ages and backgrounds who would like to use a new, exciting, gentle and fast method of training new horses, breaking bad habits, or just getting a safe perfect riding experience with a well-mannered and cooperative horse.
If you have a specific project or you want to train many horses, this course will help you to understand basic and not-so-basic concepts of training, as well as starting young horses, and how to keep you and your horse safe and free from sabotage or hang-ups which stop forward momentum. The emphasis is on gentle handling, understanding yourself as well as your horse, and doing it with safety.
They are ideal for a horse and rider who have hit a roadblock in their training progress.
Patrick has completed the Horse Safety Australia course at the top level and is qualified to undertake a Clinic Instructor role at any recognised TAFE college or the like, anywhere in Australia.
